We Korean concert at PSU Lingayen
PSU Lingayen was chosen as one of the five venues of Korean concert performed by the Wind and Earth (WE) Cultural Institute held last December 12, 2008.
The said concert aimed to enhance the quality of mutual communications among nations. Accordingly the institute is forming international communication by presentation, performance, exhibition, music album and exchange of cultural commodities.
The WE album revolved on six themes, namely: Creator, Earth, Wind, Breath, Life and Man. The musical performance aimed to unfold the mystery about the beginning of the world and the dynamics of life.
One of the highlights of this event was the tea ceremony where Koreans showed formalities and principle enclosed to it. According to them, they obtained ensure by following the etiquette and elegance of drinking tea termed as “teaism”.
Jinchae Kim, artist performed the ceramic are exhibition using white porcelain. White porcelain is a mediator that shows the vivid character of the Koreans.
The performers of the concert were Youngism Choi (hourglass drum ) , Yukyung Lee(drum), Hana Kim(2nd Buk/ Jang-gu), Kyungmi Han(large and small gong), Hangyeoreum Sung(seven string zither), Changhee Han(large bamboo flute), Khyuhwan Kim (small bamboo flute) and Janchai Kim(ceramic art performer).
According to Peter Kim , vice president of NET153 Corporation, WE is already 70 years and plants have a traditional cultural exchange program between Korea and the Philippines.
